One Voice for Public Policy: Something Political We Can ALL Support?!

Is it possible? Is there a political cause everyone can feel good about supporting?

As we enter into the final stages of this political season, one thing is clear: there is much confusion and much controversy regarding most political issues. There is, however, one issue that stands out in contrast --- one issue that enjoys broad bipartisan support. That unifying issue is greater parental choice in education! Indeed, it is a support that is strong (well over 75%) and crosses all political, ethnic and gender boundaries. In fact, nearly 20 states have already passed some form of Education Savings Account program in which dollars follow the child to the school of the parents’ choosing. And, we can do so here in Minnesota as well, if we will only make it clear to our legislators that we expect them to make it happen!

Very soon, next week Thursday or Friday, you will have the opportunity to make just such a statement by attending one of two school choice rallies!   Speaking at these rallies will be Corey DeAngelis, the most prominent national voice on this issue. I urge you to sign up to attend one of these events and make it clear to our elected officials that it’s time to put parents back in charge of their kids’ educational lives!

We all know there are many frustrations associated with politics these days, but here is a bright spot … here is a positive program that we and all our fellow citizens can all rally around. I hope you’ll take the opportunity to do so! I hope to see you there.
